Things you’ll hear me say as I guide your practice…
When you attend my yoga classes I like to remind you that you are here for you, not for me. Not to perform, but to practice. Not to meet or exceed your expectations, but to honour yourself as best you can.
No matter the style you will hear me say the following:
This is your practice, I am just here as a guide. Please listen to what feels right for you and your body.
Please let me know if you need any modifications during the flow to ensure this practice suits your needs.
If you experience any discomfort in any of the poses, please come out of it, and I can offer you an alternative shape that suits your needs.
If your body is asking for rest at any point in our class, honour that and find a restorative shape.
If you need any assistance or modifications or even extra props during class, please raise your hand and let me know.
When I teach yoga, I am there to serve and hold space for you. My intention is for you to be as comfortable as you be can externally so that you can meet yourself internally. I am there to remind you to honour your body, your breath, your spirit. I am there to assist you in listening to your body and how it communicates with you.
I am there to remind you to let go of the expectations you have of yourself. To let go of the self-judgements. To hold yourself with compassion. And to meet this version of yourself as you arrive on your mat in your practice.
